1969 Land Rover Series II
What is it about old basic 4x4s that is so captivating? The recipe has few ingredients. Simple square body, strong gubbins underneath, military levels of luxury on the inside. As if Mr. Willys saw a jerrycan and thought “I could drive that…”
Land Rover wasn’t the first to the party, but it is definitely one of the more charismatic guests at the table. So great is its charm that this mismatch Series II sports an asking price of over $11,000.
The seller dropped in a 350 SBC which means the next lucky owner can bolt on as much go as they deem necessary for this short wheel base off-roader. Ok, so it isn’t the all original showstopper that we love to see, but can you imagine the adrenaline rush of 300 horsepower connected to what the seller describes as “some play in the steering”?
Something tells me that this Rover will spend more time off the road than on it, regardless of the driver’s intentions. Don’t worry, the heavy duty bumper and tow hooks are nearly indestructible.
