1972 Austin MINI Cooper (VTEC Swap)
This might be one of the best swaps on the market right now: a 180 horsepower Honda VTEC engine in a Classic Mini is like seeing a roided out Richard Hammond. The power to weight ratio is ridiculous. From the figures I've found (curb weight: 1360 pounds) this Mini pushes 252 horsepower per ton. To put that in perspective, the original NSX has 180 horsepower per ton. The R34 Skyline, with all it's fast and furious-ness has just 194 horsepower per ton and Bugatti's Veyron famously has 500 horsepower per ton. So for one hundredth of the price of the French Enforcer you can have half the fun! Welcome to Burbbble math 101.
The owner says it is a little rough around the edges but insists that there isn't any rust. Apparently it was imported from New Zealand and just suffers from normal cosmetic wear and tear. They are describing an ideal sleeper and who doesn't want one of those?
